Free Fire India Esports 2026: FFMIC Prize Pools, Winners and Road to FFWS
Free Fire India launched on 28 October 2026 as a standalone game for Android and iOS. But India's Free Fire esports scene did not wait for the launch. In 2026, Garena ran two TEZ Free Fire MAX India Cup (FFMIC) events with ₹1 crore each, sent Indian teams to the Esports World Cup, and won India three places at the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2026 Global Finals.
This guide explains the prize pools, the winners, the path from India to the world stage, and which reported changes are still not confirmed. For full launch details, read our Free Fire India launch report.

What changed with the Free Fire India launch
Garena first planned to launch Free Fire India on 5 September 2023, then postponed it. The game finally became available on 28 October 2026 as a separate app, not as an update to Free Fire MAX.
Garena says Free Fire India stores user data on cloud servers in India. The launch also adds safety features for young players:
Parental sign-off for players under 18.
Screen-time break reminders.
Daily play caps.
Limits on in-game spending.
A Diwali campaign with in-game events runs until 15 November 2026. Free Fire MAX stays available in India, and the 2026 esports events below were all played on Free Fire MAX.
FFMIC 2026 Spring: ₹1 crore and a ticket to the Esports World Cup
The TEZ Free Fire MAX India Cup 2026 Spring was the first big Free Fire tournament in India this year. It started in February with city qualifiers and in-game stages, and the Champion Rush Grand Finals took place on 19 April 2026.
The total prize pool was ₹1 crore, and the money was shared across 18 teams, not only the top three. The published breakdown was:
1st place: ₹35,00,000
2nd place: ₹17,00,000
3rd place: ₹7,00,000
4th place: ₹5,00,000
5th place: ₹4,30,000
6th place: ₹4,00,000
7th place: ₹3,75,000
18th place: ₹77,500
Grand Finals MVP: ₹1,50,000
The bigger reward was qualification. The top three teams earned places at Free Fire at the Esports World Cup 2026. Team HIND won the Spring title. The same roster later played under the Team Apex Gaming name.
FFMIC 2026 Fall: Apex Gaming win through Champion Rush
The FFMIC 2026 Fall Grand Finals ended on 27 September 2026 at Noida Indoor Stadium. The prize pool was again ₹1 crore, and this time the top three teams qualified for the FFWS 2026 Global Finals.
The result shows how Champion Rush works. A team must first reach a points threshold (110 points in this final), then win a match with a Booyah to take the title. Resurrection Esports reached the threshold first, in Match 6, and finished with the most conventional points (151). Team Apex Gaming reached the threshold in Match 8 and then took the Booyah in Match 9, so Apex won the title with 149 points, according to Outlook Respawn.
Champion: Team Apex Gaming, ₹35,00,000
2nd place: Resurrection Esports, ₹17,00,000
3rd place: TSG Pros, ₹7,00,000
4th place: Clutza Esports
Grand Finals MVP: KD (Team Apex Gaming), ₹1,50,000 extra
Prize figures for the Fall final are from TalkEsport's results report.
How Indian teams reach the world stage
In 2026, Indian Free Fire teams had two international events to aim for:
Free Fire at the Esports World Cup 2026: 15 to 18 July 2026, with a $1,000,000 prize pool. The event moved from Riyadh to Paris. India was represented by S8UL, Team Apex Gaming and Total Gaming Esports (SportsTiger).
FFWS 2026 Global Finals: 6 to 28 November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. India has three of the 24 places, the first Indian teams at the World Series in seven years (Sportskeeda).

Reported changes that Garena has not confirmed
Before the launch, Outlook Respawn reported a possible new esports roadmap for India. Treat these points as unconfirmed until Garena announces them:
FFMIC could be rebranded as FFWS India.
The tournament prize pool could rise to ₹2 crore.
City qualifiers could expand from 12 cities to 18.
If Garena confirms these changes, Indian prize money would double compared with each 2026 FFMIC event. We will update this page when Garena makes an official announcement.
Other Free Fire MAX events in India
Garena India also launched the Free Fire MAX Booyah Premier League 2026, a cricket-style franchise event. Six teams are owned by popular creators, players are picked through an auction, and the prize pool is ₹10 lakh. It is an entertainment format, not a qualifier for international events.
