What Krafton announced
Krafton India posted the launch date on its official Instagram account, and Digit and SportsTiger both reported it on 4 November 2026. BGMI Air is a lighter edition of BGMI aimed at players whose phones have little free storage or weaker hardware.
SportsTiger says the game was previously known as BGMI Lite and was renamed BGMI Air in October 2026. It also reports more than 14 million pre-registrations on Google Play. That figure comes from a single outlet, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Closed beta: how it works
Digit reports that applicants must be at least 18, live in India, hold a valid government ID and have an active BGMI account ID. Selected players travel to Mumbai, Delhi or Kolkata at their own cost.
SportsTiger adds that applicants submit a 15 to 60 second video explaining why they should be picked, tag the official BGMI account, and fill in the form linked in the Instagram bio. Krafton chooses the participants.
Download size and device requirements
Both outlets put the initial Android download at about 1GB. Digit lists a minimum of 1.5GB of RAM and an Adreno 306 GPU or better, and says no extra packages are forced before the first match. SportsTiger says no device specifications have been listed. Until Krafton publishes official requirements, check the Play Store page before relying on those numbers.
Krafton will share pre-launch rewards and other details through BGMI Air's social media channels, according to SportsTiger.
What is still unclear
Account handling: Digit says existing BGMI accounts work and that BGMI and BGMI Air players can share matches, while SportsTiger describes a separate app that needs no account transfer. Wait for Krafton's own statement.
iOS availability: the reports mention Android pre-registration only.
Pre-launch rewards: Krafton has not yet shared details.
What it means for BGMI players
Players on low-storage phones get a clear date and a beta window to watch. Owners of the full game do not need to change anything. For the competitive side of BGMI, see our BMIC 2026 final standings and the BMSD 2026 results.
